The village involved in this intervention, situated in the old municipality of Mura, in Valtenesi, derives its name from the Lombardmura, meaning wall or  house, and is shaped as a courtyard centre, the result of spontaneous aggregations and architectural excrescences. The assorted volumes of the building, the porches and loggias, have all been newly planned to obtain several housing units. The salvaged original walls and the employment of materials typical of the local rural architecture such as wood, lime plasters, wrought iron doors and windows, as well as the use of stone, confer to this renovation a distinctive local feeling.
